  1. I completely agree with the author that such argument such as studio generated sounds made Kishore a great singer is not an argument at all. No singer can be great without his own qualities. Kishore was a very talented singer with a golden voice that made him great. How did the great Rafi dominate the Bollywood music world uninterrupted during the 50s and 60s? Not with the help of any support of studio generated sound. But due to his tremedous melodious voice with an uncomparable range that could deliver all types of songs. The 50s and the 60s are known to be the golden period of songs not only in Bollywood but also in Bengal which produced Hemant Kumar, Manabendra Mukherjee, Geeta Dutt, Sandhya Mukherjee, great Music Directors like, S.D.Burman, Madanmohan, Naushad, Roshan , Shankar Jaikishan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, O.P. Nayer etc. The characteristics of music during this period was the amount of melody present in the songs, the use of classical approach in many songs and the high quality of lyrics. The post 70 period witnessed a change in people’s habit in their choice of songs. The author is right when he says Kishore could muster these new changes more successfully than Rafi and Mukesh since these changes were, in my opinion more suited to his voice. Kishore brought a new style in the Indian Musical world for which he will be remembered long.

    SO HIS VOICE AWWAS GR8
